Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee spoke out in protection of Arizona Democratic Sen. Kyrsten Sinema after President Joe Biden stated an incident of an activist recording her in a restroom was “a part of the method.”
“It’s completely galling … It’s not a part of the method to assault an individual like that,” Lee instructed host Maria Bartiromo throughout a “Mornings with Maria” Fox Enterprise interview on Tuesday.
“To enter a restroom with somebody filming them, and for him to defend this in any means, form or kind as a part of the method is absurd,” the senator added.

Lee’s feedback adopted a response from Biden when reporters requested him in regards to the incident involving Sinema on Sunday. The president known as the activist recording the senator within the campus restroom “a part of the method.”

Lee additionally stood up for Sinema in a tweet on Monday after she launched a public assertion concerning the incident.
“Senator Sinema is a buddy. I’m appalled by this habits. There isn’t a place in civilized society for the kind of harassment she suffered,” Lee tweeted.

Sinema responded Monday to the protester who adopted her into the restroom, calling the motion “unacceptable” and “illegal.”
“Yesterday’s habits was not professional protest,” Sinema stated within the assertion.
“It’s unacceptable for activist organizations to instruct their members to jeopardize themselves by partaking in illegal actions resembling gaining entry to shut college buildings, disrupting studying environments, and filming college students in a restroom,” the senator added.

Sinema later added that the actions had been “wholly inappropriate.”
“Within the 19 years I’ve been educating at ASU, I’ve dedicated to making a protected and intellectually difficult atmosphere for my college students. Yesterday, that atmosphere was breached. My college students had been unfairly and unlawfully victimized. That is wholly inappropriate,” she stated.
The recording originated from “Blanca,” a reported immigrant youth from Arizona, with greater than 5 million views of the video on Twitter in lower than 24 hours.
