What is “God’s Favorite Idiot” about?

Clark Thompson (Ben Falcone), a mid-level tech support agent, finds love with colleague Amily Luck (Melissa McCarthy) just as he is struck by lightning and becomes the ignorant messenger of God. There’s also roller skating, a lake of fire, and an impending apocalypse.

Ben Falcone plays Clark, the tech support person who becomes God’s messenger. Falcone has previously starred in What to Expect When You’re Expecting and Enough Said and has directed, co-written and produced The Boss, Life of the Party, Superintelligence and Thunder Force. Falcone married Melissa McCarthy in 2005.

Melissa McCarthy plays Clark’s girlfriend, Amily. On television, McCarthy is best known for the series Gilmore Girls and Mike & Molly, while on film she is known for comedies like Bridesmaids and St. Vincent” is known. She was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the biopic Can You Ever Forgive Me?, one of my favorite films.

Leslie Bibb plays Satan, which you’re probably already conceptually familiar with. Bibb has appeared in films such as Movie 43, Tag and Iron Man 2 while appearing on television in Entourage and Jupiter’s Legacy. She is next seen in Mrs. American Pie.

The rest of the cast includes Kevin Dunn (Veep) as Clark’s father Gene, Yanic Truesdale (Gilmore Girls) as Chamuel and Usman Ally (Veep, A Series of Unfortunate Events) as Mohsin Raza.

Is there a trailer

Yes, there is, and you can check it out right here.

Who writes and directs God’s Favorite Idiot?

Michael McDonald, who previously directed several episodes of Scrubs and Cougar Town, is directing the first episode of God’s Favorite Idiot.

Ben Falcone and Melissa McCarthy are executive producing the series.

When and how can I watch God’s Favorite Idiot?

The first eight episodes of God’s Favorite Idiot are available to stream on Netflix starting Wednesday, June 15.

How many episodes does God’s Favorite Idiot have?

God’s Favorite Idiot received a 16-episode order for its first season. However, these episodes will be released in two batches. The first eight will be released on Netflix on Wednesday, June 15, with the second eight filming separately from the first at a later date.

You might reasonably ask why that doesn’t count as ordering for two seasons – with the first eight counting as Season 1 and the second eight counting as Season 2 – and the answer is presumably that Netflix can pay McCarthy and Falcon less. (There’s no raise for season 3 if they’ve only done one season so far, that sort of thing.)

It’s also likely, albeit to a lesser extent, part of Netflix’s gradual attempt to expand its content distribution — to get busier launch dates and keep customers longer.

Why should I watch God’s Favorite Idiot?

It’s one to check out if you’re a fan of Melissa McCarthy — particularly her past collaboration with husband Ben Falcone — and probably worth a look if you enjoy films like Evan Almighty that take a sideways look at religion .
