God of War is great on PC, but PlayStation is more reliable

It’s been a few days since God of War was released on PC, and the game has become a great game for PC gamers out there.

A few years ago, if someone had said that PlayStation would port its exclusive features to PC, everyone would have considered it impossible. However, that all changed with the release Horizon Zero Dawnand since then, God of War became the seventh title to be adapted for PC. We have another one coming in the next few days, with a release Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collectionwill complete the octave.

Over the past few years, I’ve played a huge amount of unhealthy games, to the point where most new games don’t excite me anymore. However, with God of War, it’s a completely different experience. Having grown up playing the entire franchise, it was clear that the nostalgia factor dominated my bias towards the game. When I start playing the new one God of War However, it’s unlike its predecessor, so the nostalgic element has pretty much disappeared. However, what it offers is more than just a game, an experience rather than an experience and that has made it one of my favorite games of all time, right next to The Witcher 3.

Considering how much I love this title, it’s clear that I’ll give it a go once it’s released on PC. Now before I start building on my experience with the game, I would like to highlight the specs of my PC.

As soon as I started the game, I was appalled by how good it looks on PC. I tried the game on PS4 Pro and it looked pretty good, but playing it on Epic Settings at 60 FPS is a completely different experience. However, it was only momentary, and I faced a lot of problems right after that.

Right after Kratos and Atreus started their journey, my game crashed. I thought it was a one-time thing, but then it happened again and again. I tried updating my graphics card driver, but it didn’t fix the problem. In the end I had to reinstall the game and this time it worked pretty well. I was pretty excited at the start of my immersive journey, but as soon as I reached the top of the mountain, I started facing performance issues.

Now that I know, things on Epic may be a bit too much for the PC I’m used to, but it works pretty well for a good part of the game so I think that should continue for the rest as well. In the end, I had to search for the best settings and tweak the ones that took a heavy toll on performance. Although the performance has become pretty stable after that, sometimes the game starts to freeze and the only way I can fix it is to restart it. At first I thought this was something that I was having due to some reason, but then I found ACG raised the same issue.

Now it’s not God of War can’t be played on PC or all these problems can’t be solved. It’s not a broken mess like Horizon Zero Dawn is for many PCs. But one thing that should be emphasized is that PlayStation has been much more reliable for me. I don’t bother about updating graphics drivers, my PC overheating, or finding the best settings on the control panel. Sometimes, people just want to just plug and play and avoid all the complications. Sure, the PC experience is unmatched, but if I’m looking for a hassle-free experience, I’d definitely choose to play God of War on the PlayStation console.
