‘God of War’ beats ‘Monster Hunter Rise’ for #1 on Steam Top Sellers list

PC gamers are finally enjoying God of War and it was a huge success for Sony. For the first time ever, a PlayStation-exclusive title is released on a new platform, this time on PC. Although still competitive, in the week of release, God of War became of the week best selling PC title.

The climb was quick for God of War. the highest was 73,529 on January 16.

God of War also dropped on the Epic Games Store concurrently with Steam, and on the platform gamers also embraced the title, adding more numbers to its successful PC launch.

Last week also saw the launch of another highly anticipated console title on PC, this one by CapCom. Monster Hunter Rise. This game beat itself so cool God of War on concurrent Steam players, however, in the end God of War sell higher.

While Monster Hunter Rise not the best selling game of the week but this title hit another milestone, shipped more than eight million units since the launch of the first Nintendo Switch in March 2021.

God of War first launched on PlayStation in 2018 and its continued success on PC is a great sign ahead of its sequel. God of War: Ragnarok launching for PlayStation later this year. For now, fans will have to be patient until the official release date of this game is revealed.
