Giolito Tosses 3-Hitter As White Sox Pound Astros – CBS Chicago

CHICAGO (AP) – Lucas Giolito scored three goals, Jose Abreu started a three-pointer and the Chicago White Sox defeated the Houston Astros 10-1 on Saturday night.

Tim Anderson, Zach Collins and newcomers Gavin Sheets and Jake Burger also went deep when the White Sox came out on top after throwing the first five games of the season series with a 34-9 record against the Astros.

Anderson had three tackles in the AL division leaders ’meeting, and Burger’s seventh single was his first professional homer.

Jolito (8-6) hit eight shots and hit no one when throwing 107 yards in his fifth full-time game. After Michael Brantley doubled with one performance in the first, Jolito retired 22 consecutive times until Ibrahim Toro joined with eight performances in the eighth.

None of Houston’s first 16 games against Giolito hit the ground running. By the time Jose Altouve hit the ball to third-seeded basketball player Joan Moncada for the final from Houston to sixth, everyone was on top of the flying balls.

Astros right-back Jake Odorizzi (3-5) allowed four runs and six assists in 3 1/3 innings. He entered with 1.04 ERA, his five previous appearances.

Collins and Anderson went out on the field in a row from Odoris with a third. Both homers may have been augmented by the moderate wind that blew.

The Cubs won 6-0 with a two-set lead from Brandon Bielac in the fifth, and Homer’s 16-yard touchdown run was a three-round shot to Joe Smith in the sixth.

MOVEMENT

Homer Abreu was number 214 for his position and moved him to fourth place with Carlton Fisk on the business franchise list.

Lynn will earn $ 18.5 million in the next two seasons. The White Sox have $ 18 million for 2024 with a purchase of $ 1 million.
