Ghost of Tsushima Director cut will include a new story extension set on Iki Island. The new story trailer focuses on the new location, the new characters Jin will encounter, and the dangers he will face as he journeys across the sea to confront a new Mongol tribe.
The story extension and Iki Island can be accessed after reaching Level 2 in the main game. Jin learns of a mysterious Mongol tribe that has settled on the island of Iki. Their leader, Ankhsar Khatun, also known as “Eagle”, is a khatun and a magician who can control the living and their souls. This makes her and her devoted followers extremely dangerous. If they had the support of the locals, it wouldn’t be just Tsushima whose fate was in jeopardy.
Jin had been to Iki Island before but he buried the memories of that traumatic visit and forgot about the Sakai clan’s dark past. However, players will be seeing the island for the first time, which means there will be plenty of new places to explore. The samurai haven’t been on the island for a while, so there will be plenty of other types of characters to meet. From pirates to looters to monks, Jin will need to gather their support if he is to destroy this new Mongol tribe.
