Instead, his team will play on Friday against second seed Washington, who beat Saint Louis, 2-0, in a night game. Notre Dame, the fourth seed, also advanced to the semi-finals when they overcame Pittsburgh, 4-2 on penalties after drawing 1-1. The Irishman will face Clemson, who upset the No. 1 seed Oregon State, 4-3 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.
