More than two years later Game of Thrones finished, The ending of the series remains an emotional topic for fans. However, it should be remembered that the creator of the franchise, George RR Martin, never intended for things to turn out the way they did.

It is a known fact that hosts David Benioff and DB Weiss are the ones behind most of the creative decisions made after Game of ThronesNS‘season five, that’s when they run out of source material provided by Martin’s books. Naturally, the fact that the writer’s last major novel in the series was published in 2011 didn’t help, and it looks like Martin continues spend his time with Winter winds.

However, all of that hasn’t stopped Martin from wanting to interfere with the TV show’s Lord of Lights way of putting things together. This fact is documented in James Andrew Miller’s new book, Tinderbox: HBO’s ruthless pursuit of new frontiers, chronicles the network’s rise to produce some of the most memorable television content of all time. According to excerpts from interviews with Martin’s representatives, Paul Hass and former HBO CEO Richard Plepler, the author often travels to New York City to meet with executives “begging” for permission. Game of Thrones revealed in ten seasons of 10 episodes each.

Martin has always felt that there are many stories to draw inspiration from, a feeling he has repeated in the past many times when he is quoted as saying. Game of Thrones could have gone through 13 seasons to become “a more satisfying and enjoyable experience”. As recounted by Hass, although Martin loved his working relationship with Benioff and Weiss, the author has said at times “You don’t follow my mold” to HBO in regards to the roadmap being made to bring the characters to the place. they were supposed to be.

Both Benioff and Weiss want to explore other projects, because they were tired of working for many years Game of Thrones and became eager to end the series understandably, which explains why the last two seasons were shorter than the previous installments up to that point, despite achieving the desired ending the author intended. Today, Martin is busy working with long expectation Elden Ring, acting as an executive producer and hoping to write some articles for Winter winds too.

Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire The saga remains unfinished to this day, with only five of the seven novels intended to be completed. When House of Dragons will probably take the show’s main spot as a proper, Netflix fantasy series The Witcher now brings some serious competition to this streaming battle.
