A Genshin Impact player creates a list of which capped character banners have been the most successful in terms of revenue.
Genshin Impact Updates usually consist of two separate banner cycles with different characters. Each of the cycles contains one or two five-star characters and three four-star characters.
A new contribution to the popular Genshin Impact subreddit shows the most popular banners in the game so far. Reddit user ShiftYourCarcass listed the five most successful banners in the game when it comes to revenue. It should be noted that the list only represents the numbers for the Japanese server on iOS.
Several replies in the comments section claim that they were surprised that the most popular banner was the one featuring Yelan and Xiao. The banner was placed in the first part Genshin Impact Version 2.7, and it featured three decent four-star characters: Noelle, Yanfei, and Barbara. Although both Xiao and Yelan are very popular characters, the main reason for the banner’s success is probably the fact that Update 2.7 was delayed by three weeks, giving players more time to acquire valuable Primogems.
The second most popular banner also featured two characters, Ayato and Venti, and it was available in the first part of Genshin Impact update 2.6. Kamisato Ayato was a new character back then and there was a lot of hype around his official release as he was one of the main topics in the community for a very long time. Fellow Banner player Venti is still considered one of the best supports in Genshin Impact despite being one of the oldest characters on the playable roster.
The second part of version 2.6 featured Ayato’s sister, Kamisato Ayaka, and she ranked third on the list. Several comments claim though she is one of the strongest DPS characters in Genshin Impact, the main reason for the banner’s success is the fact that their banner lasted three weeks longer than any other update in the game. The fourth banner on the list features another iteration for one of the most popular characters in the game, pyro polearm user Hu Tao.
Her repetition was placed in the second part Genshin Impact Version 2.2, and there was a new four star character, another pyro polearm user named Thoma. The last banner on the list features two very popular five-star characters, Ganyu and Zhongli, and it was available during the 2.4 update. Recent leaks have indicated that both characters will most likely receive another iteration in the coming period Genshin Impact update 3.0.
Genshin Impact is now available on mobile, PC, PS4 and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
