The Genshin effectUpdate 2.4 is finally coming to all platforms and fans can’t wait to get their hands on it.

Released in late 2020, The Genshin effect has developed several folds and established its name in the gacha genre. We’ve seen the game evolve significantly over the past few months, with a flurry of updates coming to the game.

miHoYo has detailed the first update of 2022, which will also include a brand new banner with some interesting characters. For now, the expected release date of the update is as follows, although there may be some variation depending on how it’s implemented.

• January 5, 7:00 p.m. PST
• January 5, 10:00 p.m. EST
• January 5, 03:00 am GMT

For the first banner of Update 2.4, we have Xiao as a 5 star character. This has been known for quite some time, as speculations have said Xiao’s rerun will coincide with the Lantern Rite return event. In addition, we also have a new weapon banner.

Weapon banners will include the Calamity Queller and Primordial Jade Winged-Spear, along with a host of other 4-star weapons. Like always, we also have a new area in the game, none other than Enkanomiya.
