GAO says government plans to expand its use of facial recognition

Ten federal companies — the departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Protection, Homeland Safety, Well being and Human Companies, Inside, Justice, State, Treasury, and Veterans Affairs — informed the Authorities Accountability Workplace that they intend to develop their facial recognition capabilities by 2023, the GAO mentioned in a report posted to its web site Tuesday.
