With Christmas fast approaching, I really think hairstylist Larry J. Sims was watching How the Grinch stole Christmas right before sculpting Gabrielle UnionYour hair becomes a miracle updo for the 2021 British Fashion Awards on November 29. Her hair looks exactly like Cindy Lou Who’s signature bouncy bun in the 2000 adaptation of the story – but without the style braids. Who’s protruding cookies.
A quick look at Union’s look shows that inches, aside from some bulk, have been served on this sky-high hairstyle, most likely around five to seven. Just like Cindy Lou, Union’s updo also has a second layer in the form of a bun at top.
To reiterate the words an Instagram user commented on one of the Union’s post from the awards show, this hairstyle is “really unbelievable.” It’s not every day you see someone walking around with this high hairstyle, let alone in this volume. Even so, this fabulous hairstyle seems like a suitable option for the theme, as Union’s light blue-gray dress is also something you don’t see every day.
Sims also posted two videos about Union’s hairstyle, with an appropriately captioned video, “Go BIG or Go Home,” a reference to Union’s large hair of the evening.
Sadly, Sims hasn’t shared any details behind the inspiration for this look, but for now, we’ll just go with the fact that the Union’s British Fashion Awards hair is given to Who’s. All comparisons aside, Sims’ art proves that hair can fly sky high, if not higher. In fact, big hair is a trend right now. You can keep up with the trend by trying “Modern honeycomb, “a look we’ve seen pretty much everywhere.
