Full rerun patch, Sumeru release details leaked

The first leak comes from Genshin Impact Leaker DD (via SYP), who is a household name in the Genshin Impact community. Note that these leaks are not 100% reliable and should always be viewed with caution, except for the beta leaks that are datamined directly from the game. The latter is rarely wrong, so that’s pretty believable.

As for the leak itself, it says that the Chasm region will be split in two. This means that what we get in the next update is only part of the Chasm region and the other part will arrive in the next update.

More interesting is the fact that the leaker states that there will be no new characters in the 2.8 update. This is very surprising as many were expecting Heizou to be released in this update. Now, the leaker could be hinting that no new 5-star characters are coming in the update, but the former is also a good possibility. This is because some leakers had previously stated that 2.8 will be a full re-patch.

At the same time, it is stated that the next new character will arrive in 3.0, which comes after the 2.8 update. If we stick to the current schedule that miHoYo is following, it’s safe to assume that the 3.0 update will arrive in late July or early August. With the 3.0 update, the Sumeru region also makes its debut in the game along with the Dendro characters. It shouldn’t be long before we learn more about the upcoming Dendro characters in the game.
