French parliament passes law banning the use of wild animals in circuses

Performances with lions, bears or tigers would be banned for two years, and possession of such animals would be illegal for seven years, according to the bill, which requires President Emmanuel Macron’s signature become law. Also prohibited by law would be ferret farming and live dolphin shows. According to Agence France-Presse, the measure will shut down the country’s last mink fur producer.
