Free PS Plus games for December 2021 are a win for Co-Op fans
In the COVID-19 era, co-op gaming has become more popular than ever. For some people, gaming can be one of the only safe things to do with friends. Due to the social isolation caused by the pandemic, 2020 and 2021 have seen a huge increase in the demand for co-op gaming. Players only have to look at titles like Animal Crossing: New Horizons or It takes two to see how important co-op games are (or at least the co-op options) became.
There are some exceptions, but as a general rule, co-op games require two or more people who know each other in person (or connect online) to play. Opposite, multiplayer game with matchmaking like Fortnite much less personal. The service started out extremely strong in early 2021 and has weakened throughout the year, but December will end the year with a bang.
This month, PlayStation is offering Godfall: Challenger Edition, LEGO DC Super-Villains, and Shell of death for PS Plus subscribers. Out of three, both God come down and DC Super-Villains there are co-op options. It’s optional, so gamers who want to play alone can also play, but it’s a great opportunity for PS Plus subscribers looking for more cooperative experiences. LEGO DC Super Villain Also family friendly, which is a big plus for some.
Although co-op games are becoming more and more popular later this year, there are not many co-op games yet. games offered through PS Plus. There have been numerous offerings for multiplayer, often with co-op options available, but the most notable games with a co-op focus are: Activities: Tango and Overdo! All you can eat. God come down and LEGO DC Super Villain could be added to the list this month, and they’re a great way to end the year.
Godfall: Challenger Edition’s Co-Op
There is some controversy in the PlayStation community about Godfall: Challenger Edition show Challenger version, what’s new for PS Plus, severely limits how much players can do in the game. Instead of offering the entire game, Challenger version only includes the “Lightbringer,” “Dreamstones” and “Ascended Tower of Trials” campaigns, none of which are the main crux of the game.
What makes this even strange is that the tests included end-game content, which means gamers playing Challenger version are immediately given great equipment and level up so they can complete the challenges. Many subscribers feel like they are getting a God come down test version instead of the whole game and some concern that God come down is starting the PS Plus trend of offering unfinished games. The good news is Challenger version still have co-op.
Because Godfall: Challenger Edition story quests are not included or in regards to the single player process, co-op is probably the best way to enjoy it. Godfall’s Co-op allows up to three players to team up online and face various challenges together. There is no multiplayer element to Oh my God, so all the player has to worry about is the enemies in the game. However, with missions only available from late game, it can be a challenge for new players Godfall – having an extra set of hands or two can make a huge difference.
LEGO DC Super-Villains ‘Co-Op
While they may not be the most challenging titles out there, LEGO video games can be very fun to play in co-op mode. With a friend, they’re much more fun because of the built-in collaboration elements. Funny retellings of classics like Harry Potter, Star Wars, and stories from the Marvel and DC universes are also a lot more fun when people laugh together.
In LEGO games, there are often multiple characters present in the journey even if the player uses only one. Some quests require teamwork, which can be completed with an NPC but is more enjoyable with a friend. LEGO DC Super Villain only allows up to two players, so it’s not great for larger groups. For families, friends and couples getting together on holiday, it’s a great way to spend time. LEGO games are also accessible to kids and casual players alike, so it’s something the whole family can enjoy without having to spend a lot of time learning the systems and mechanics.
In LEGO DC Super-Villains, Everyone play classic DC villains like Harley Quinn, Joker, and other members of the Injustice League. In the absence of the Justice League, the supervillains work to uncover the true motives of the heroes who want to call themselves the Justice Foundation. It strikes a fine balance by giving players someone to cheer for, but also letting them wreak havoc on their favorite characters, which every villain-based game should do. DC Super-Villains didn’t get great reviews (nor God come down), but that doesn’t mean it can’t be a fun co-op experience to share with friends.
With both God come down and LEGO DC Super Villain on the table for december, beside soul-as title Mortal Shell, There must be something for most people to enjoy. For fans of co-op games, it’s one of the strongest months of the year in PlayStation Plus.
