Free sci-fi multiplayer game planetary area 2 received a major update, with its last patch being eight years ago. This update adds a whole new continent to the game, new mechanics, weapons, and more for players to explore.

In Massive Multiplayer FPS, this exciting new update introduces players to the “Expedition: Oshur” quest that takes place on the game’s new large-scale continent, the tropical Isle of Oshur. This is the first update since 2014 and one that brings “something for everyone” according to planetary area 2 Developer Daybreak Game Company.

The lore behind Isle of Oshur relates to a time before the Auraxian War when exploration was most valuable and factions in the game were not clearly divided. The island has sandy beaches, tropical jungles, and vast savannahs that power the use of heavy armor and vehicle battles in the multiplayer arena. There are towers called Trident Relays that overlook the island for quick response and air support for squads and platoons. This island separates itself from the others map as it does not include warpgates. However, a large team serves as the player’s main base of operations. It comes with its own protective cartridge to keep enemy ships in bay by shooting them out of the sky.

Water plays an essential role in this particular update. Basically, developers have to dive into the mechanics of the game to understand how water is used. With the update, the developers redesigned the in-game water interactions for vehicles, ballistics, and infantry. For example, hovering vehicles now float on water, conventional vehicles glide over water, infantry and track vehicles can travel along the ocean floor and all projectiles are affected by considerable drag when entering the water. These changes in mechanics add a sense of realism to the game. Another example of this realism is that traditional weapons will not shoot underwater, so the developers have introduced a special weapon to suit the player during this transition – the three rifles underwater and a pistol.

As previously mentioned, the update introduces the Trident Relay which is a high spacer used for air support, while below the developers have introduced a new base called the Interlink Outpost. Originally a communications center, this outpost is now an area near the battlefield with multiple entrances for attackers to pass through. These changes are part of the large list of updates in this patch and are described in Details planetary area 2‘S News official website.

To celebrate the launch of Expedition: Oshur, the developers are allowing specific windows to allow the map to auto-unlock, which will provide more access before returning to the usual rotation. Usually based on need. This automatic unlock will run between January 26 and Sunday, January 30, giving players a few days to take advantage of the Free multiplayer.
