Free MLB Dealer Tracker: Latest Hot Stove Updates As Cubs Land Marcus Stroman; Javier Báez joins Tigers

Major League Baseball saw a free agency rise before a possible lockdown. Many big-name freelance agents have signed deals since Friday with business expected to halt Wednesday night, when the current collective bargaining agreement expires at 11:59 p.m. local time. evening ET. Max Scherzer, Corey Seager, Robbie Ray, Javier Báez and Marcus Semien are among the freelancers who found a new home in the past few days.
Scherzer has a record contract with the Mets. Rangers have committed $500 million to Seager and Semien to remake their domestic as they attempt to transition from rebuilder to rival. Ray, the defending AL Cy Young winner, leaves the Blue Jays for the Mariners. Toronto fills his rotation void with Kevin Gausman.
All of these moves come after big-name pitchers like Justin Verlander, Noah Syndergaard and Eduardo Rodriguez signed on earlier in November. There are still plenty of big fish swimming in freestyle ponds, including Carlos Correa, Freddie Freeman and Kris Bryant. But the sealing of the gap caused an unprecedented battle of wits in Major League Baseball.
