Fox News regulars Ben Shapiro and Matt Walsh freak out over Fox’s trans teen segment

A Fox News segment highlighting the story of a California family who accepted their son’s transgender transition story has drawn the ire of some Fox News regulars as well as far-right fever swamps.

“California transgender teen, family hopes to be an inspiration to others,” was the title of correspondent Bryan Llenas’ video report, which was published on the Fox website. Fox News host Dana Perino introduced the segment during her Friday morning show as part of America Together LGBTQ+ Pride Month.

The freakout came almost immediately.

“I’ve appeared on Fox News many times. I appreciate the platform they gave me. If what I’m about to say ruins this relationship, so be it.” tweeted Daily Wire podcaster Matt Walsh, a Fox News regular and right-wing arsonist behind an anti-trans documentary that tried to trick trans teens into attending under false pretenses. “We must call out this evil madness wherever we see it. Especially on our own side.”

He continued to rant, claiming, “I know for a fact that many people at Fox would not condone this and would never have consented to airing radical, far-left trans propaganda,” adding, “Everyone involved should be fired immediately.”

Daily Wire honcho Ben Shapiro, also a Fox News regular and often quoted approvingly by the network’s opinion leaders, similarly lamented with a tweet: “That would be absolutely despicable madness if I saw it on CNN or MSNBC. To see it on Fox News is a complete betrayal of anything remotely resembling conservatism or decency.” He also called on Fox to “terminate anyone responsible for this agitprop atrocity.”

On Saturday morning, Donald Trump’s platform Truth Social and Telegram also grumbled with anger.

“Fox News is cool when toddlers are on hormones,” Gavin McInnes, a leader of a hate group who founded the Proud Boys, wrote on Telegram. Elsewhere, both Stew Peters, a far-right shock jock, and Lauren Witzke, a failed candidate for the Delaware Republican Senate, encouraged their followers to spam Fox News with emails because the segment aired and was also “disgusting,” “Satanic” and “demonic.” “Turn Fox News OFF,” extremist social media platform Gab continued.

“Fox News is DONE!” Former Trump administration official and ex-Fox News contributor Sebastian Gorka wrote on Truth Social. “Fox and Twitter join forces,” Seth Dillon, CEO of The Babylon Bee added.
