Fox News Host Sandra Smith Stunned By Charlie Gasparino’s Defense Of AOC

Fox News and the rest of the right-wing media apparatus talked all day about Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s decision to spend New Year’s Eve in Miami, Florida. So when ‘s channel Afternoon Host Sandra Smith started a segment called “Rules for you, not for me,” she guessed her guests would be on the wrathful train.

“Well, looks like AOC A-OK with the mask off, at least in Miami,” Smith began cheerfully, while showing footage of New York Democrats “partying” in what the host program described as a “crowded bar” in Florida — while negligently acknowledging that it was outdoors under a tent.

“Critics are calling her hypocritical when COVID cases spike in her home state of New York,” Smith continued, before asking that leading question to her guests, Fox Business Network reporter — and the occasional Trump critic—Charles Gasparino. “Is it fair that many people call her hypocrisy for partying in Florida while her home state is battling a record COVID surge?”

His answer seemed to surprise her. “Honestly, no!” Gasparino said. “It’s not fair. I don’t understand why she can’t go to Florida and have a good time.”

“Nobody said she couldn’t,” Smith drew back, defensively. “They’re just suspecting hypocrisy.”

Gasparino went on to say that it could be seen as hypocritical if Ocasio-Cortez was attacking Florida Governor Ron DeSantis while empowering his state leaders. But more importantly, he added, “This is a Fox News warning. I will support the AOC on this matter. And here’s why: She was outside! ”

He concluded that unless Ocasio-Cortez said that people should wear masks at all times, even when eating out, “it’s not hypocritical,” disappointing the presenter. That’s the story!
