Fortnite v18.40 Hotfix Add New Item Vote, ‘Strike Out of the Shadows’ Week
Fortnite’s latest hot update adds a few things to the battle royale, including another weapon vote and ‘Strike from the Shadows’ week.
Even though it might only be a few more days Fortnite Season 8, the battle royale appeared determined to end the current season with a bang. A new hotfix for Fortnite v18.40 is out today, adding another weapon item vote as well as a new “Strike from the Shadows” Week.
Epic Games’ ever-popular free-to-play title is in the final weeks of its current “Cubist” season. Continuing a plot sequence from the previous installment with the theme of an alien invasion, Fortnite allowed the player Vote to bring weapons out of the vault as part of the ongoing War Effort. Fans have since brought items like the Combat Assault Rifle and the Grappler back to the island, and they’ll get another shot to get another weapon back into circulation.
Details about the official Fortnite website, the latest weapon item vote allows players to decide between two fan favorites: the Close-in Grenade Launcher and the Flint Locked Pistol. Introduced in Chapter 1, Season 9, the Proximity Grenade Launcher fires a projectile very similar to a standard grenade, in that it bounces off the surface. However, the projectile can explode in mid-air whenever it is near an opponent. The Flint-Lock Pistol has a very unique function, that is, it launches the user and the target opponent in the opposite direction they are aiming, but is disabled when crouching.
Both weapons boast unique properties that are unmatched by any other weapon today Fortnite arsenal has, so it will be interesting to see what the player base votes for. In addition to the new weapon item voting, a new themed week has begun, called Strike from the Shadows Week. suitable for Fortnite‘NS Naruto cross event, the next week emphasizes on Kunai Paper Bombs with Soccer Balls and Ball Pads. The spawn rates of all three items spike, Epic Games encourages players to sneak into opponents in shadow form, then destroy with Paper Bomb Kunai.
An interesting detail of Fortnite hotfix is at the top of the post, describing it as almost time to “adopt a new battle strategy”. While there is no indication as to what this means, some players have theorized about the intent of each particular movement. With so little time left in the current season, and it is generally believed that the next season will be the start of Fortnite Chapter 3, fans think it could be Throwable ax weapon recently leaked. The famous leaker HYPEX has revealed the model of the new weapon, although its stats and features are still a mystery.
Combination of Naruto crossovers, Strike from the Shadows Week, and a new weapon item vote, Fortnite seems determined to spice things up for the rest of the season. Although, things could get exponentially more spicy next season, as the rumor says a sliding mechanic is being added.
