Fortnite update patch notes 3.40
- Game maintenance on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, Android and Nintendo Switch.
- The Switch update also resolves issues with loading and unloading.
As you can tell, Fortnite’s 3.40 update is a very small change to Epic Games’ beloved battle royale. Those are mostly behind-the-scenes changes to mainstream consoles, PC and Android, making sure everything is working properly after the recent launch of Chapter 3. The only major change coming to the Nintendo Switch .
A bug, which first appeared in the new installment, causes the game to stop working if the player switches between docked and undocked modes. In fact, it was so pervasive that a message on the Fortnite home screen advised against changing your game mode during sessions. Fortunately, version 3.40 seems to eliminate that problem, which means you can switch modes as you like again.
Other than that, though, it’s mostly changes that we won’t really notice. Rolling out such a massive amount of content in Chapter 3 is bound to bring some performance issues and minor hiccups with it, so this update starts to put those things to bed. It should help bring some stability to Fortnite after its massive new iteration. This introduced a Brand new Spider-Man Skin into the game, as well as tease a The Rock’s skin landing in the future. We’ll be able to enjoy those a little more now, thanks to this update’s stability fixes.
