A brand new update comes For the sake of honor today (December 9) and will mark the beginning of Y5S4, ‘Frozen Shores.

Today’s new update will include a long list of changes, improvements, and bug fixes, with more content coming in the new year. One of the most notable pieces of content that will appear in Title Update 2 on January 27 is the all-new Heroes.

For the start of Y5S4, players will find a brand new ‘Frost Celebration’ Event awaiting them in the new patch, along with the return of the fan-favorite game mode.

Below you’ll find the official patch notes for December 9 For the sake of honor update, marking the beginning of Y5S4.

IMPROVE

Shinobi

  • HP is now 120, up from 110

Range attacks

  • Removed Heavy Charge Attack from Neutral
  • Removed range guard break
  • Ranged Heavy Attack is now a Melee attack that can be used after Front Kick, Side Kick, or Teleport Kick

Light and Heavy Attack changes

  • Heavy Opener properties adjusted for better range and tracking
  • Light attacks now chain to Rain of Sickles at 100 milliseconds (down from 200 milliseconds)
  • Light openers now have more forward movement
  • The light finisher now has a flatter weapon trajectory and now has more forward movement

Sickle rain

  • Top Heavy Finisher is now unblockable and 800ms (up from 700ms)
  • Side Heavy Finisher is currently unrepairable
  • Additional hits for Sickle Rain no longer require strict timing
  • Additional attacks no longer deal Bleed damage
  • Now deals 20 damage on initial hit, plus 3 per stab (29 damage total)
  • No longer consumes stamina when hit
  • No more ignoring Pin rules
  • Now the sequence to Flip the previous 66ms

Chain

  • Light finisher now chain to Rain Sickle
  • Combination Light attacks now chain into Rain of Sickle

Dodge Kicks

  • Side Dodge Kick can now be performed after one Dodge (from Double Dodge only)
  • Front Dodge Kick can now be performed after a Dodge (Dodge only)
  • Front Dodge Kick can be performed from 300ms to 500ms from Dodges
  • The forward dodge kick and the side dodge kick can now create ledges

New option: Front Dodge Heavy

  • New option: Heavy attack dodge first
  • 700ms feintable Heavy Attack
  • Can be done from 100 milliseconds to 500 milliseconds in Front Slider and Front Double Dodge
  • String initialization

Scroll first

  • Now chain to Flip Kick earlier
  • Now chain to Sickle Rain
  • Targets can now be swapped
  • Now there’s more forward movement
  • Now 600ms frames with vulnerabilities (iframes)
  • Can no longer compromise Guardbreak
  • Now lasts a total of 900ms
  • Now leads to Double Dodge at the same time as Flip Kick and Sickle Rain

Flip Kick

  • Now leads to a new guaranteed combo heavy attack
  • Targets are now interchangeable

Sprint Attack

  • Replace Sliding Kick with new Sprint Attack
  • The new option is still a Melee attack but no longer unbalances the opponent
  • New option to chain into Combo Heavy Attack when hit

New option: Combo Heavy Attack

  • Accessible by pressing Heavy Attack after Flip Kick and Sprint Attack
  • Chains to Sickle Rain

Turn over

  • Now it’s 900ms (up from 600ms)
  • There are now 600ms iframe
  • No longer a Guardbreak Invulnerable
  • No more chaining to ranged attacks
  • Now chain to Flip Kick
  • Now chain to Light Finishers and Sickle Rain
  • Now start Double Dodge

Dodges

  • Double Dodge can no longer dodge backwards
  • Double Dodge now consumes 6 stamina

Deflect

  • Teleport is no longer automatic; it must be done by pressing guardbreak while deflecting
  • Shift current string to Heavy Finisher

Teleport kick

  • No longer guaranteed after Teleport
  • Range’s heavy attack is now always guaranteed

Shadow Strike

  • Now Chain to Teleport Kick
  • Now chain to Sickle Rain
  • Expand the input window to make the operation easier

Area attack

  • Now costs 15-15-10 Stamina (down from 17-17-21)
  • Can now Flip at the same time as Feint
  • 3rd hit has less Knockback
  • Now chain to Sickle Rain

FEATURE

Smoke bomb

  • Changed Smoke Bomb’s effect to an AoE explosion that instantly stuns enemies on launch for 5.0 seconds
  • Removed the effect of blocking Lock on other players
  • Removed an effect that prevented the use of Interactions (Revival, Zipline, switches, etc.)
  • Removed the effect that prevented the Player of the enemy inside from competing for the Points obtained
  • Removed the effect that prevented Minions and Pikeman from attacking
  • Removed the effect that granted the employee a 10% Boost Modifier for 10 seconds
  • Removed the effect granted to Stealth Modifier while in AoE
  • Removed the effect that cleaned up the “Scout” and “Mark for Death” effects on the wheel

  • [Bug Fix] Fixed an issue that caused Warlord, when changing Stance, to get stuck waiting for 300ms before being able to enter Full Block Stance.

  • [Bug Fix] Fixed an issue where dodging Demon Embrace would not apply Revenge Cards or Revenge feeds. (FH-2509)
  • [Bug Fix] Fixed an issue where Shugoki would walk through the floor and die if performing “Demon Embrace” on the stairs on an enemy with Revenge active

Jiang Jun

  • [Bug Fix] Fixed an issue that caused Jiang Jun to slide on the left stick direction input while restoring the attack opening bug. (FH-2515)

DOMINION

  • [Bug Fix] Smasher After reaching max Kill (same as God) now get the same bounty reward as max Kill (they didn’t give the bonus before)

  • [Bug Fix] Fixed an issue where Female Hitokiri’s right thumb was faulty. (FH-2845)
