There’s no time to die may have escaped the shackles of being delayed eighteen months to make $756 million and count at the box office, but another action blockbuster rooted in espionage has been pushed back even further. no chance of a stratospheric analogy if recent projections are any indication.

When Secret Service and Golden circle are almost identical from a commercial perspective after bringing in $414 million and $410 million respectively at the box office, the prequel The King’s Man would be lucky if it’s even halfway there with those numbers. Follow Box Office Pro, the organization’s origin story is following with a weekend opening of $10-15 million and a domestic gross of $35-55 million.

There are several reasons behind the low forecasts, one of which is the difficulties that R-rated titles continue to face during the pandemic. Then there is a release on either side of the Spider-Man: There’s no way home and Matrix Recovery, the two effects-based epics aim largely at the same demographic as The King’s Man.

Matthew Vaughn’s latest season was originally scheduled for November 2019, but 25 months is a long time for public opinion to run out before the release on December 22, never mind its short 45-day theatrical run before the movie presumably streams on Hulu and Disney Plus’ STAR expansion as a former 20th Century Fox project.
