Fnatic recruit Armel, Jaunuel to complete Dota 2 lineup

Southeast Asian giants Fnatic have found their new mid laner and hard support.

Armel and Jaunuel Arcilla offer 5 slots for Fnatic to enter the upcoming match Dota Pro Circuit Season, The organization announced today.

Armel will change his first team in almost 4 years. The 21-year-old star has emerged since joining TNC Predator in January 2018, establishing himself as one of the best mid laners Southeast Asia has to offer. He is part of Team TNC won the region’s second Major in Chengdu.

Jaunuel recently mapped pretty well with OB Esports x Neon, a key part of the team’s stellar performance at the ONE Esports Singapore Major. The 23-year-old will be a solid support, partnering with Dj, recently confirmed to return to No. 4.

“The signing of Armel and Jaunuel is a huge boost for our Dota team,” Fnatic wrote in the announcement. “They are two of the best talent not only in the Philippines but in Southeast Asia in general and the thought of working with them is really exciting.”

Jabz will take over as captain from his off-road position, marking another transition to a new role.

While Fnatic remains dominant domestically, the organization has found its roster desirable in the international arena in recent years. The 9th place tied with International 10 is the best performance for the organization since TI6, where they hit fourth. The ambitious signing of superstar Armel certainly signals their intention to continue swimming ahead in a tough SEA region, with the attention of Aegis of Champions.
