FlyQuest shoots through 100T’s defence, cementing their first win of the 2022 LCS Lock In

With just one match to ensure their perfect first weekend in the LCS, 100 Thieves fell to FlyQuest on day three of the LCS Lock In tournament. FlyQuest easily overcame Thieves’ forces and won by the end of the day League of Legends Fit.
After two losses earlier this week, FlyQuest secured map-wide pressure against 100T throughout the game to prevent them from looking for any chance to come back, scoring FlyQuest a convincing win. This iteration of the FlyQuest roster, which mixes both rookie and veteran LCS talent, sets their win conditions in the front lanes, demanding that 100T always give the answer.
FlyQuest’s bearers maintain their gold lead over their laners, boosted by securing early goals. As the game progressed, 100T continued to lose their carry to picks from FlyQuest, resulting in the loss of dragons, Barons, and turrets faster than they could answer. Teamfights easily shift in FlyQuest’s favor with 100T trying to fully commit to the fight, giving both Toucouille’s Corki and Kumo’s Gwen plenty of room to overwhelm opponents in lane. menu and quickly grant them gold for powerful items.
100T chose to start Tenacity in the top lane in this game instead of Ssumday, marking the debut of the former 100T Academy player on the LCS stage. His first challenge was to overcome Kumo, a player he encountered quite often during their time in the Academy setting. The slow laning phase worked in favor of Tenacity until FlyQuest started snowballing targets, then pouring all of their resources into Kumo in a way Tenacity couldn’t possibly win one on one. Even Closer’s Viego, one of his strongest picks, couldn’t take down Kumo in the late game, giving the top laner an extra chance to split push and open 100T turrets, ensuring FlyQuest victory won against the defending champions.
FlyQuest will wrap up their group stage in the LCS Lock In 2022 tournament tonight against Dignitas, while 100 Thieves look to stay on top in Friday’s battle against Cloud9.
