What to know

The North Florida Ospreys will compete against the Florida International Panthers at noon Sunday ET at the Ocean Bank Convocation Centre. Florida International will move forward after a win while the Ospreys will stumble after a defeat.

Needless to say: North Florida lost to the Kentucky Wildcats last Friday, and they lost badly. The score was raised to 86-52. One thing keeping North Florida back is the defender’s mediocre play Jose Placer, who didn’t have his best game: he played for 25 minutes but picked up just six points in the 3-to-11 shoot.

As for Florida International, they must be even more grateful after Wednesday’s game against the North Dakota Fighting Hawks. Florida International had a solid victory over North Dakota, winning 65-56.

The Ospreys are expected to lose their next game by 5.5. Those burned by picking them up against last Friday’s spread may want to note that the team hasn’t beaten consecutive games to the margin this season.

North Florida took the lead in a nail game against the Florida International when the two teams met previously last December, passing 80-77. The rematch could be a bit tougher for North Florida as the team won’t have a home field advantage. We’ll see if the change of location makes a difference.
