Fix Xbox ‘unknown online status’

Is there any way to fix the error? Xbox Error “unknown online status”? It’s an issue that’s been around for most of the Xbox One’s life, but is likely to still affect players in 2021, when Xbox Live will show that a person is online or offline but the service instead displayed as “unknown”. So is there a fix for Xbox One’s “unknown online status” or is it an issue with Xbox Live itself?

To fix the “unknown online status” error message with Xbox consoles:
- Check Xbox Live Service Status Page for any problems and try again later or go back to the dashboard and try to change the player status to “online” on Gamertag.
- Do a factory reset of the console by holding down the Xbox’s power button for ten seconds until it turns off, then unplug the system from the power cable and wait ten seconds again, this will reset electricity supply. Reattach the cable, turn on the control panel and try again.
- Remove and re-add the profile to Xbox. Press the Xbox button and go to Profiles & System / Settings / Accounts / Remove Account, delete the profile, then go back to Profiles & System and choose Add or Transfer.
- Do a soft factory reset by going to Profiles & System / Settings / System / Console Info / Reset Console then make sure to select “Reset and keep games and my app”. This will just reset the OS and keep everything added, so any corrupted data will be reset.
If there’s any problem with Xbox online services, or if the servers are down at all, that could be the cause of the “unknown” online status message, so just wait for it to settle down.
