Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, a healthcare executive, won Tuesday after Florida Secretary of State Laurel M. Lee ordered a machine recount of votes on a tight race. An initial tally showed Cherfilus-McCormick close to a deadlock with Broward County Commissioner Dale Holness, with Holness leading with 12 votes out of more than 49,000 votes.
