Five arrested at memorial for B.C. Indigenous woman after Victoria police chief assaulted

5 individuals had been arrested after the chief of the Victoria Police Division had liquid poured on him whereas attending a ceremony for an Indigenous girl killed throughout a wellness examine.
Victoria police say Chief Del Manak was attending an occasion on the B.C. legislature organized to pay tribute to Chantel Moore, an Indigenous girl from British Columbia who was killed by New Brunswick police throughout a wellness examine in 2020.
The police division says the incident occurred after a conventional blanketing ceremony, with one suspect pouring liquid on the police chief.
Police say Manak was unhurt and had been invited to the ceremony by Moore’s mom.
The division says a number of different individuals had been arrested whereas officers went to arrest the preliminary suspect.
There’s no phrase on what costs the accused could face.
