Nomura and Kitase’s Final Fantasy VII Special Commemorative Message

To celebrate the game’s 25th anniversary in Japan, the official Final Fantasy VII Twitter account, which now focuses on Final Fantasy VII Remake, posted an image today to commemorate the event.

The image includes quotes from both Kitase and Nomura about the big anniversary, which you can see below.

Kitase makes an interesting point by saying that Final Fantasy VII is now considered one of the “early series” games, while it still feels like a recent game to them.

Both Kitase and Nomura seem excited by the fact that Final Fantasy VII is still a phenomenon 25 years later, perhaps even more so with all the content associated with it now.

Many would have been hoping for potential news about Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 here, but unfortunately this message focuses only on Final Fantasy VII itself and only mentions the names of exciting upcoming projects. .

This celebratory message for Final Fantasy VII is a bit basic, but it’s been great to hear from both Nomura and Kitase about the series and what it really means to them.

Kingdom Hearts celebrates anniversaries again

Square Enix has a lot of properties under its umbrella, but no series is more closely associated with Final Fantasy than Kingdom Hearts, which had Nomura as director from the start.

From the very first game in the series, Final Fantasy played an important role with the inclusion of characters such as Cloud and Sephiroth. Although the use of Final Fantasy characters in Kingdom Hearts has been scaled back, there’s no reason why they couldn’t celebrate.

This came about thanks to a special image on the official Kingdom Hearts Japan Twitter, which you can see above. This is similar to them honoring the 20th anniversary with a photo of Sora in front of Merlin tower as seen below in a tweet from this date in 2017.

It’s become a tradition for Kingdom Hearts to help celebrate Final Fantasy VII’s release date, so it will be interesting to see what they have in store for the 30th anniversary and beyond!
