Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker: New Races
Along with the other content Endwalker brings to Final Fantasy 14, there’s also a new race for players to choose from when creating characters.
Final Fantasy 14The new Endwalker expansion has added a ton of new content. Players have more stories, loads of new missions, a pair New Jobs called Reaper and the Sage, and even a brand new race to choose from when building a new character.
Races in FF14
Players can choose from a variety of races, and each expansion even adds more Final Fantasy 14 overtime. Six of these races can be either male or female, but two races can only be one of these two. The races the player can choose from in the game before Endwalker are:
- Hyur
- Elezen
- Lalafell
- Miqo’te
- Roegadyn
- Au Ra
- Viera (Female only)
- Hrothgar (Men only)
In Endwalker, however, the last player is not only allowed to play the male Viera, but is also allowed to dress up his new bunny. the boys wear clothes designed for any Final Fantasy 14 sex.
New Viera in Final Fantasy 14
Thankfully, Endwalker is starting to change races to be gender-specific. In the 6.0 update, players will be able to do Vietnam (rabbit-like race) for the first time since racing was introduced in the series. Since Viera was first seen in 2003 in Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced, only female bunnies are seen in any FF game. The Endwalker update also expands the types of hairstyles available for Viera female, giving players more possibilities to create the exact look of their character that they want. This along with new seduction rules, new options and looks will be available to everyone.
Also to be added later in the Endwalker cycle is the ability to play the female Hrothgar. These cat breeders are based on Ronso’s Final Fantasy 10; they have both the warm colored coat from the Helion race and the cool coat color from Lost.
Changing a character in FF14
Players can choose to create an entirely new character to change their gender or appearance, or they can take advantage of a fantasy system that allows players to update their race, gender, and appearance. Players get a free fantasia upon completion A realm of rebirth story quest chains and they can also buy them in Final Fantasy 14 Shop for $10 USD for 1, $28 USD for 3, and $45 USD for 5. Fantasias are a consumable potion item that the player can use at any time, which means they can use it. Use it to change to male Viera or wait until female Hrothgar is finally available.
