How to repair patch files could not be downloaded error occurred with FF14 Endwalker update

Disable your firewall

It’s a classic problem and definitely the first thing you should try. If you don’t have a specific anti-virus + firewall running, you should try disabling the Windows firewall.

To disable the Windows firewall, go to Control Panel, System, and Security, and then go to Windows Firewall. Select “Disable Windows Firewall (not recommended) for both Private and Public network settings”. And then try to download FF14 Endwalker refresh. Once done, remember to re-enable the firewall.

Reset permissions

You can easily do that by deleting “4e9a232b” of FF14. You can find it under Users, –the names of the users you are logged in with on Windows-, Documents, My Games, Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn, Downloads and then Patches. In there, delete the folder “4e9a232b”. And then try downloading the update again.

Hope this helps as these are the two most common troubleshooting.
