for use by 16- and 17-year-olds as soon as next week when there is concern about a new, possibly more contagious variant, according to a person familiar with the plan.
The agency is planning to act quickly on requests from companies to license boosters to 16- and 17-year-olds, according to a person familiar with the matter. So far, only people 18 years or older is eligible for boosters.
