Favorite Russian UN Ambassador Dmitry Polyanskiy Fox News Guest Talks About US Plans ‘Quasi-Afghanistan’ in Ukraine

A guest on Tucker Carlson Tonight famous for making Russia-friendly remarks took place again on Monday, and appeared to have worked so well that a prominent Russian government official later praised his appearance online.
Ret. Colonel Douglas MacGregora former Trump military adviser, was asked by Tucker Carlson if he believed the “mission” in Ukraine was from the US perspective.
“I think a lot of people would be willing to take some risky measures on behalf of the country if they understood what the plan was,” Carlson said. “The plan seems to prolong the hostilities in Ukraine to the end? I really don’t understand it. You have?”
MacGregor, who said last month that the Russians should be allowed to take however much of the Ukraine it wants, replied that he thought the plan was to “prolong the fighting assuming that over time the Russians could be driven out of Ukraine.”
“And if it’s not possible to drive out the Russian army, which I think a lot of people realize isn’t going to happen, then the plan is to finish destroying Ukraine by turning it into a quasi-Afghanistan.” That won’t happen either, MacGregor predicts, “because the Europeans won’t come along.”
Meanwhile, sanctions will not harm Russia, he stressed, despite the evidence that those who are already available are just doing it.
Hours later, Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyanskiy, reacted positively to MacGregor’s outlandish claim that the United States would seek to “destroy” the Eastern European country.
“I think this plan has been around since the beginning – from the illegal Maidan coup in 2014!” Polyanskiy wrote on Twitter. “Now we only see the updated version of it. We are under no illusions about the noble intentions of our US and UK colleagues! ”
Carlson and MacGregor both have quoted by Russian state television in recent weeks, including the retired general’s suggestion that Ukraine basically kneeling for Vladimir Putin. If Polyanskiy’s response is any indication, MacGregor’s comments on the nature of US involvement in Ukraine seem to point to the same spot.
