Fans are demanding Paddy Considine win an Emmy

The Emmys were just last month, though house of the dragon Fans wasted no time in picking a new champion for the 2023 edition. Fans of the series rallied for Paddy Considine across Twitter last night, celebrating his tour de force performance in one of the series’ most consequential episodes to date.
It’s been a long, winding road for King Viserys (Considine), who has fought leprosy in recent episodes while also governing the Seven Kingdoms. episode 8 Yes, really stressed Visery’s fight, and fans were left deeply awed by the King’s rapid decline into something completely and utterly decayed.
“Paddy Considine, you deserve an Emmy for your portrayal of King Viserys,” explained one viewer. “I had to pause tonight’s episode because I couldn’t see through my tears.”
Okay guys I contacted the Emmys team – they’re already engraving Paddy Considine’s Emmy. No reason to worry. It will be ready in September 2023. I apologize to the successor Cast hoping for another award for Jeremy Strong or Matthew Macfadyen.
But what was all the fuss about? Let’s get into that.
(Spoiler alert for everyone who hasn’t seen it house of the dragon Episode 8, “The Lord of the Tides”.)
Viserys’ face and body are a mess, a mess of a man battling a terrible disease that is eating away at every bone in his body. Seeing his face ripped to shreds might be worse than seeing to smile at a local cinema. And yet he carries on, trying to keep the peace in the kingdoms and his family. Viserys holds one last family-style supper around the large table before passing, and offers a few toasts to settle things before being buried two meters below ground.
However, there was one scene that viewers held onto in particular, and it took place right before the final family reunion. Viserys returned triumphantly to the throne room and declared that the succession was settled. And who better to usher him onto the throne and help him wear the crown one last time than Daemon (Matt Smith)?
This moment was actually improvised, house of the dragon Director Geeta Patel narrates Weekly entertainment: “When we were shooting that – I think rehearsal again, day one – the crown fell off Paddy’s head and Matt picked it up and we just kept going. We haven’t stopped [filming]. There was a discovery of that moment there.”
Okay, so maybe Considine and Smith both deserves Emmys. While we won’t (most likely) see Paddy Considine again in the last two episodes of house of the dragon, Smith will return. And the way the teaser for Episode 9 looks, it’s going to make hell hot.
