Fan Creates Impressive Concept for Modern Mobile PlayStation Console
A group of PlayStation fans designed a handheld console modeled after the PlayStation 5, and it was impressive, to say the least.
Among the major video game publishers, PlayStation has cultivated a loyal following for nearly three decades. During the measurement, PlayStation has done many different hardware iterations, from home consoles to handhelds. Now, a group of PlayStation fans have designed a modernized handheld concept based on aspects of the PS5.
While home consoles like the PS4 and PS5 are mostly what most modern game enthusiasts associate with the PlayStation, between the 2000s and early 2010s, Sony released consoles. handheld PlayStation controller, such as the PlayStation Portable, or PSPand PlayStation Vita. Both systems have their fair share of fans, but both perform worse than home consoles like the PlayStation 2 and 3. There hasn’t been any indication yet that Sony will release one. other mobile consoles, but that doesn’t stop fans from imagining what they might look like.
On Reddit, a user by the name of foxbone, along with an unnamed friend, designed a concept for a new portable PlayStation console. The design itself looks super modern and quite similar to Steam floor in a lot of regard. The way the side controllers tilt down is very reminiscent of the button layout found on the Steam Deck.
What’s fascinating about this concept design is how the side controllers are themed after PS5 DualSense Controller. Not only that, they look as if they can be taken apart and used as individual controllers, as is the case with the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controller. Overall, it’s a very interesting design that a lot of PlayStation fans will probably enjoy.
Despite the lack of commercial success, PS Vita still has a large player base. Currently, Sony has no plans for any kind of handheld successor to the PS Vita, but in many ways the need for a portable system persists. It doesn’t seem to generate excitement and attention like home consoles like the PS5.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for PlayStation move forward. For now, there are still problems with the PS5 due to the lack of availability and the distributors reselling the console online at a higher price. The situation has become so tense that The PS5 reseller was even robbed with a gun. Hopefully, over time, the demand for the system won’t be as high.
