Fan Creates Azeroth-Style World Map of Onatrio, Sicily, and Veneto
A World of Warcraft fan creates maps of Ontario, Sicily, and Veneto, using Photoshop to recreate the iconic style of Azeroth’s world map.
World of Warcraft’s In-game maps have a clear and iconic style that makes them instantly recognizable. Reddit users and World of Warcraft Spoon fans took that iconic style and applied it to real-life locations to create Azeroth-style maps of southern Ontario, Sicily, and Veneto.
Spoon was able imitate the style of World of Warcraft map by recreating the brushes and content with Adobe Photoshop. While they pulled many assets directly from the game’s existing maps, many more were found or created just for this project.
The maps themselves would fit perfectly many areas of World of Warcraft. These include all the major towns, highways, and landmarks in each area. Spoon has even created unique icons to represent some of the major cities and their iconic landmarks, like Verona’s famous Arena and Toronto’s CN Tower, all of which mimic the style. way of icon. World of Warcraft cities like Stormwind and Orgrimmar.
Spoon shared their first Warcraft-map a few months ago – map of the continent of Australia. Interestingly, they rendered Land Down Under in the same style as Outland, Draenor’s broken ruins added Burning Crusade. Their map of Australia is getting even more attention than their recent work, although that could change if Spoon pays attention to their hard work.
Convert real-life locations into Warcraft Zone is a tradition that has gained more and more love and attention over the years. Map enthusiasts and artists ConservationOfWumbo has done over a dozen Warcraft map of different states from the United States, and eventually there are plans to recreate all 50. Other artists are also involved, such as Winston-91, who created a map of the Netherlands in a similar style. like ConservationOfWumbo and Spoon.
World of Warcraft Past and present fans always love to see other fans’ creativity expressed through art like this. Fans of Spoon’s work were quick to praise them, including jokes in the comments, suggestions for future areas to work with, and instructions on how they created the map in the first place. . With all the work done by Spoon and others World of Warcraft fans and artists, a handful of regions of the world have been turned into Warcraft areas. Eventually, perhaps players will be able to piece together entire Earth maps in the same style as those found in World of Warcraft.
