Fan Art’s God of War Looks Like a Crossover Cuphead

A God of War fan predicts God of War: Ragnarok creates an innovative rubber tube interpretation of Kratos and Atreus inspired by Cuphead.

L3mmie, aka Daniel Lehmacher, shared rubber hose fan artwork about God of Warby Kratos and Atreus. L3mmie admits that Cuphead is their “biggest inspiration” for the artwork, which is strikingly and wonderfully reflected. Cupheadvisually impressive art style complemented by its distinctive rubber tube cartoon style. The rubber tube animation is taken from 1920s cartoons and is nicely depicted with characters with weak limbs and appendages without anatomical joints, as seen here with Kratos and Atreus.

Admittedly, Kratos and Atreus’ rubber tube-style design is adorable, and fans have been sharing their new wish for the two franchises to cross-match. Reddit user El-Mitochondria suggested Kratos appear as Cuphead boss, while LDG192 thinks about the idea God of War became “Disney Industrial Park back to the 30s”. Rubber hose animations are much less graphic or detailed than God of Warcurrent graphic fidelity of, which also removes it from the more brutal and violent overtones to instead give Kratos and Atreus a sane and cartoonish aesthetic.

Epic Mickey, Skullgirls, and Bendy and the Ink Machine are a few examples of other games that have used rubber hose animations to create a neutral effect.
