Facebook Gaming has signed another big star, this time one of the world’s most famous athletes Brazilian soccer star Neymar Jr.
Games on Facebook has stiff competition with Twitch and YouTube Gaming. Along with each service having distinct attributes, cross-platform exclusive streaming players are one of the biggest things that set them apart. With that in mind, Games on Facebook signed Neymar Jr., one of the most famous athletes in the world.
When Neymar Jr isn’t shining on the pitch for Paris Saint-Germain or his Brazil national team, the soccer star is often spotted online with games like Call of Duty, Fortnite and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. In the past, the Brazilian superstar has streamed on platforms other than Facebook Gaming, like Neymar Jr was even banned on Twitch. But now, he’s signed a new deal.
In a recent tweet, Facebook Gaming announced that Neymar Jr. will join the streaming platform. His first live stream will be tomorrow, December 17, at 11 a.m. PST. In a Facebook message, Neymar Jr shared that he can’t wait to have fun on Facebook Gaming and that video games have always been one of his biggest passions. With that being the case, he must have been very emotional when Neymar Jr’s skin Fortnite. The idea of a skin in a video game is quite imaginable for someone who loves gaming.
The signing is a recent win for Facebook Gaming. Recently, Ramee left Twitch to join Facebook Gaming only. Ramee is one of the oldest car theft 5 transmitter. It seems like a streaming platform that “steals” one streamer from another has become a standard part of the business. One of the first and biggest examples of this was when Ninja left Twitch to switch to Mixer, a now defunct platform. It will be interesting to see how many platforms can co-exist and sign partners for a long time.
Facebook Gaming has provided huge amount of money for streamers like Penta who are still on Twitch. The details of the signing of Neymar Jr. are currently unknown. But even if the footballer isn’t able to stream as often throughout the year, chances are Facebook Gaming has come up with a great deal. Being a streaming star is becoming more lucrative. Neymar Jr is one of the highest paid athletes in the world, but it certainly wouldn’t matter if Facebook Gaming also made some extra money.
