A new Fable game is on the way, and it looks like Playground Games is adding more celebrity talent to the team working to bring the game to market.
Although there are still some questions about the exact timing Fables The game will eventually release, there is no doubt that it is being worked on. As Fables 4Potential release date leaked Coming closer than ever, the development team is adding talent including former Rare lead artist Toby Hynes.
The Fables The game series has been in a number of different hands over the years, starting with Big Blue Box, which worked on the first game in the franchise. Xbox Game Studios has always been the publisher, but development of the next few games was left to Lionhead Studios, who then worked on Fables game from 2005 to 2016 before being replaced by Flaming Fowl Studios in 2017. In 2020, development on the next game was assigned to Playground Games, which appears to be still staffing and adding added to the development team.
Unlike some hires in the video game industry who are suggested through job listings or surreptitious changes to someone’s LinkedIn profile, Hynes has announced that he will Work on Fables 4 through his Twitter account. Hynes announced he’s taking on the role of “main character” for the project at Playground Games.
Hynes brings quite a bit of experience to him, having worked for several years at Rare. When he was at that company, he was the main character on both of them Sea of Thieves and still in development Everwild. Before working at Rare, he was an employee of SIE London Studio, where he worked on the PSVR game Blood & Truth.
It’s hard to know what it means to add Toby Hynes to the development team when Estimated release date for Parable 4. At the very least, it looks like one or more of the characters in the game still need a bit of polish. Of course, that in itself doesn’t make definitive sense as players can expect to see the game’s long-awaited launch.
Fables 4 is one of those games that was rumored to be in development long before anyone officially confirmed that it was being released. As of right now, almost nothing is known about the game’s plot or even what it will look like. Some believe there’s a chance the game could arrive in some form soon, even if the final product may be a year away from being ready.
Fables 4 is in development for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
For players looking to scratch that itch at that Fable, it might be worth trying Sandbox Interactive’s fantasy MMORPG Albion Online.
