Masashi Kishimoto is the creator of Naruto, which is one of the most popular manga series of all time. The first part of the series is flawless and of consistent quality. It’s full of incredible moments, and when it ended, there were great expectations Naruto Shippuden. Unfortunately, the quality dropped drastically and consistency was lost. There were instances where the story was superb but the drops were very sharp.
The Fourth Great Ninja War is arguably the biggest highlight of the series, and that’s largely due to the number of big names involved. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, fans first saw Madara in action. Madara’s introduction left everyone dazed as he prepared to bash hundreds of ninjas alone. Madara’s backstory and powers all pointed to him being the final villain in the story, but that didn’t happen when he was betrayed by Black Zetsu. It was later revealed that Black Zetsu had manipulated Madara Uchiha to ensure Kaguya Otsustuki’s rebirth. This decision by Kishimoto had several consequences.
Forced to pull the story
Everything was going well before Kaguya’s revival. It felt like once Sasuke and Naruto defeated Madara, the two ninjas would go ahead and solve their own problems. However, Kaguya’s introduction to the story changed things as she was far more powerful than Madara or any other villain that was part of the story. Madara’s strength was ridiculous compared to Kaguya Otsutsuki. After receiving new powers from Hagoromo Otsutsuki, Sasuke and Naruto began messing around with Madara. When the duo fought Kaguya Otsutsuki, it was a whole different story. Kaguya was able to overpower both of them with minimal effort.
To help Naruto and Sasuke, Kishimoto chose Obito, Sakura, and Kakashi. When Sasuke was thrown into a completely different dimension by Kaguya, he had to be rescued by Obito and Sakura. On another occasion, Obito saved Kakashi, Naruto, and Sasuke by sacrificing himself. This completed Obito’s redemption and led to the infamous scene where Naruto called Obito a “hero”, causing a major scandal.
The reason for the backlash was the fact that Obito was responsible for the deaths of Naruto’s parents and several others, and yet Naruto called him a hero. Obito’s redemption felt forced and no fan would have complained if he died normally. Obito’s influence didn’t stop there, however. After his death, Obito gave Kakashi his six-way chakra and eyes, which allowed him to fight Kaguya. With the newfound power, Kakashi inflicted serious damage on Kaguya and he played a crucial role in her victory over her. After much effort, Team 7 was finally able to seal Kaguya Otsutsuki again.
Additional problems with Kaguya
By introducing Kaguya Otsutsuki, Masashi Kishimoto introduced the Otsutsuki clan. The Otsutsuki clan is a clan of extraterrestrial beings far superior to ordinary humans. When Kaguya came into the picture, Kishimoto was able to set things up Boruto: Naruto Next Generation. The series is the continuation of Naruto, and the plot mainly revolves around the Otsutsuki clan. Several members of the Otsutsuki clan have been featured so far Borutoand all of them possess ridiculous amounts of power.
The most powerful among them was Isshiki Otsutsuki. Even in his weakened state, Isshiki had enough strength to take on Naruto and Sasuke at the same time. It’s fair to say that Isshiki humiliated both ninjas fairly easily. To put that in perspective, adult Naruto and Sasuke would have little to no problem defeating Kaguya. So the introduction of Kaguya and the rest of the Otsutsuki clan completely destroyed power scaling Naruto.
Comparing the power of just a few Otsutsuki clan members to all the strongest ninjas in the series, there is no doubt that the Otsutsuki clan members would easily win. Since this is a fighting shonen series, the stronger the characters, the more hype they generate.
Very few people are interested in the regular ninjas in the series because the overpowered Otsutsuki are far more intriguing. The introduction of these aliens took the series in a completely different direction.
The introduction of the Otsutsuki clan has had a positive impact on story progression. It enabled Ikemoto to do Boruto: Naruto Next Generationthe provided Naruto fans with more content. However, it’s important to remember that there was no need to do another Battle Shonen series.
Since the next generation grew up in a better environment, the writers could have created a slice-of-life anime. It could have focused on Naruto’s family and showed his daily interactions with other people. It would undoubtedly have garnered a lot of attention considering Naruto never had a normal childhood.
His family was taken from him, so he didn’t get a chance to see what family was like until he married Hinata. no way Boruto a bad series, but the writers could have taken a different approach and that keeps coming up.
