Ex-ESPN Shill Who Slams GOP for Cash ‘Trump Fascism’ Proposal Motivated MI Rifle Shooter

Keith Olbermann has always been a political activist. Although he’s already made a name for himself as a sports host on ESPN, he just wants to be a left-wing pundit.

Olbermann had three periods with ESPN, first starting in 1992. He left the company in 1997, and the next 20 years of his career were a string of sports and left-wing news networks, including MSNBC and Fox Sports.

His last run on ESPN was from 2018 to 2020, according to The Hollywood Reporter. When he left again in October 2020, he admitted that he did so out of a desire to do more politics.

“I obeyed [ESPN’s] Expected their sports broadcasters to refuse purely political commentary (an approach I largely agree with), and they have now agreed to my wish to go and serve your country. me by focusing my energies on political commentary,” Olbermann said.

On the surface, there’s nothing wrong with that. Calling his leftist commentary a service to the country is questionable, but he has every right to cover politics instead of sports if he wants to.

The problem is that Olbermann’s commentary is not helping the country. Instead, he is in the business of posting outrageous statements aimed against radicals and driving his own traffic. leftist Content.

In this latest example of this strategy, Olbermann decided to respond to a story from Barstool Sports tells the story of Tate Myre, the star high school football player who was killed Tuesday by a school gunman in Oxford, Michigan.

A tribute to Myre, who is presumed dead try to disarm Shooter.

“As more information becomes available about this case, let’s take the time to spread the word and heroism of Tate Myre, a hero who saved countless lives by sacrificing himself,” the post read. Newspaper on Barstool wrote.

Instead of joining that brave cause, Olbermann decided that commemorating a hero who sacrificed himself to prevent a mass shooting would be the perfect opportunity to include in his deranged commentary.

“This kid died stopping a school shooter whose mother was a Trump anti-Nazi by @stoolpresidente and @barstoolsports,” Olbermann said in a tweet citing the story.

There are a lot of reasons why this tweet is completely infuriating.

Firstly, there is no evidence to support his claim that Barstool Sports or its founder, Dave Portnoy, promoted gunner in any way.

In a follow-up tweet, Olbermann tried to bolster his point by quoting an article from Daily Monster that said the shooter’s mother was a Trump supporter.

That report said the mother, Jennifer Crumbley, wrote an open letter in support of President Donald Trump after he was elected in 2016 and thanked him for “allowing me to have the right to bear arms.”

Support for Second Amendment not evil or “fascist,” as Olbermann suggested in his tweet. But even if he does have a problem with Crumbley, nothing connects her to Barstool Sports.

Is Olbermann’s tweet out of line?

While the company is known for its astute commentary around mainly sports and entertainment topics, the company has for the most part managed to stay neutral on political issues. Portnoy himself has criticized politicians on both sides of the aisle.

Olbermann offered no explanation as to why he linked the shooter to Barstool Sports other than his bogus claim that the company supports “Trumpist Fascism.”

Several employees at Barstool called him for his vile tweet.

“You wtf is wrong with you?” Portnoy said.

“You are a failure, Keith. A loser,” said Barstool Big Cat, co-host of the popular podcast “Pardon My Take.”

While naming isn’t usually very helpful, it’s hard to dismiss that title for a man who used tragic death to advertise. basic agenda and earn money.
