Evil Geniuses rookie bot laner Danny leads the LCS in kills – LoL . News

Evil Geniuses’ latest addition Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki is now the killer leader in the 2021 LCS Summer Split.

In his rookie phase, the young bot laner is showing exactly why he was promoted directly from the EG Prodigies roster after the Spring Split. The 17-year-old may be one of the youngest players in the entire league but he is also currently the one who earns the most passes. With a total of 92 kills in his first 21 games, Danny is currently leading the league with four kills on Team Liquid’s Edward “Tactical” Ra after finishing week seven with a one-way win over Dignitas.

In his most recent win over Dignitas, Danny showed exactly why everyone should consider him a viable carry early on. With seven kills on Kai’Sa, Danny and the rest of the Evil Geniuses put Dignitas on a break after just 24 minutes to secure a shared third place alongside Cloud9.

This performance is just one of many great performances for Danny so far in the LCS. Despite his young age, bot laner was the Evil Geniuses replacement needed to climb to the top of the leaderboard. Evil Geniuses have one of the best records this season, with 14 wins to seven losses. Only 100 Thieves have performed better so far.

In a meta that really allows bot laner a lot of kills, Danny has been under a lot of pressure despite being one of the newest players in the league. Although Evil Geniuses had a lot of potential to carry, Danny wasn’t shy about doing some of the heavy lifting himself. So far, Danny has shown all the meta AD carry he needs, with his best performances on Tristana and Kai’Sa.

Danny actually started the tournament pretty shaky with four straight three losses but even then he averaged over four lives per game. Since then, Danny and Evil Geniuses in general have only improved and now look like a contender for the trophy. Evil Geniuses had an eight-game winning streak this week, but that was broken by the Golden Guardians. Luckily, Evil Geniuses are now back on track with two wins to end the week.

Danny will try to maintain his high kill average on Friday, July 23, when he takes on Lawrence “Lost” Hui and TSM.
