Every new DC hero will hit the big screen in 2022
In the year 2021, DC continues to expand its cinematic universe by releasing movies like Justice League by Zack Snyder and Suicide Squad. Both films were praised by fans of the series, finding new directions in a promising universe. To keep up with this momentum, DC announced the release of many new projects in 2022 and beyond.
These new projects will hit both the small and big screens and will feature quite a few returning characters. As exciting as the return of some of these characters is, many are buzzing about what new characters will make their debut in the DC Universe. Here are some of the characters set to hit the big screen in 2022 and where you can find them.
Superman’s four-legged companion will be voiced by Dwayne Johnson in the cartoon DC League of Super-Pets. As Superman’s companion, Krypto possesses several similar skills as its owner, which includes the ability to fly and a power-up feat. He will assemble a group of pets equipped with superpowers to try to save Superman and several other members of the Justice League from Lex Luthor’s clutches. Like Superman, Krypto will get his hands on a quirky group of heroes he hopes to lead.
Super hero hound will appear in DC League of Super-Pets, voiced by Kevin Hart. The crime fighting dog is known by another name, Ace the Bat-Hound in some DC comics. His Known Relationship to Batman could cause some strange tension to arise between Krypto and Ace, though they were able to put aside their differences to save the Justice League. Ace will hopefully be able to help him by using his super strength and impressive invulnerability skills.
The iconic crime-fighting turtle will be voiced by Natasha Lyonne in DC League of Super-Pets. Merton is also known under the guise of Terrific Whatzit. The turtle possesses ironic powers of super speed and super strength. In the DC comics, Merton is often associated with The Flash. CW . Series The Flash, briefly mentioned the superhero turtle, but not as an official character. Instead, Merton is briefly referred to as a stuffed animal that Barry had raised as a child.
Superhero Soc Chip will also appear in DC League of Super-Pets. Chip (often spelled Ch’p) is a branch of Green Lantern Corps. Chip will be voiced by Diego Luna in the upcoming DC animated film and will receive the ability to shoot electric bolts. In the comic book history of the squirrel, he has enjoyed a number of impressive accomplishments, including serving as the Green Lantern.
The last member of the focal animal team in DC League of Super-Pets is PB. Like the other pets, PB will have a new set of powers acquired and have a history with one of the Justice League heroes. The big-bellied pig has a human companion in Wonder Woman and stands out especially among the other pets. The size advantage of the PB over other livestock continues as the pig is equipped with the ability to scale up. The animal will be voiced by Vanessa Bayer.
Black Adam will be the star of his movie of the same name, played by Dwayne Johnson. Teaser released by DC FanDome Introducing Johnson’s Black Adam with a thirst for power and revenge. The character was briefly introduced in the 2019 production Shazam!, but Black Adam will be the first official sighting of the new anti-hero in the DC Universe.
Hawkman will be played by Aldis Hodge and will join Johnson in Black Adam. Hawkman was one of the original members of the Justice Society of America and will introduce the group to the DCEU along with three others. In addition to the ability to fly, Hawkman also possesses enhanced abilities including strength and vision, as well as incredible regeneration skills.
Like Hawkman, Doctor Fate is also a co-founder Judicial Association of America. Doctor Fate possesses a wide range of skills that can be linked to the Helmet of Fate as well as his own ability to master magic. Doctor Fate will join Hodge and Johnson in Black Adam and will be played by former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan.
Noah Centineo Will Play Atom Smasher In Black Adam. As his name suggests, Atom Smasher has variable atomic mass. Atom Smasher has the ability to control his size and strength, allowing him to grow larger and more natural, becoming more dangerous to his opponents. The impression of Atom Smasher’s unique abilities is increased by the enhancement of other skills including speed and stamina.
The last member of the American Justice Association will appear alongside Hodge, Brosnan and Centineo in Black Adam is Cyclone. She will be played by Quintessa Swindel in the film. She is Ma Hunkel’s niece, Red Tomato, and is equipped with a power that can lend Black Adam for some stunning photo moments. The female superhero has the ability to control the wind, create tornadoes, tornadoes, twists, or simply manipulate these pre-existing conditions.
Despite having her own movie scheduled for a future release, Supergirl will do her official debut in DC in The Flash. The iconic heroine will be played by Sasha Calle in the film, although Melissa Benoist has portrayed the character on the TV series. Benoist’s TV series Superwoman ran for six successful seasons. Supergirl’s change of actress won’t affect the power the heroine possesses. The female superhero is equipped with the ability to fly and possesses some super-senses, like her superman, Superman. She also has super speed, which often puts her in competition with The Flash.
Batman already one of the most anticipated movies of 2022. Guardians of Gotham City is no stranger to the DC Universe and has been played by the likes of Michael Keaton, Christian Bale and Ben Affleck over the years. While this won’t be Batman’s first appearance in the DC movie arena, it will be Robert Pattinson’s First Appearance in the role.
2022 will also feature the heroic return of Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Amber Heard as Mera in the water sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Other DC heroes will appear in TV series such as People of Peace, will appear on HBO Max in January.
Batman Releases in theaters on March 4, 2022. DC League of Super-Pets premieres in theaters on May 20, 2022. Black Adam premieres in theaters on July 29, 2022. The Flash premieres in theaters on November 4, 2022. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom hits theaters on December 16, 2022.
