Erika Cheung, a former lab employee, stated she grew involved about exams on the corporate’s mini blood lab machine not passing quality-control checks within the analysis lab. Theranos often would throw out two knowledge factors, referred to as “outliers,” to attempt to get exams to move high quality checks, she stated. Selecting the outliers was like “cherry-picking,” she stated, and there weren’t guidelines about which knowledge factors to decide on.
