Fox News host Sean Hannity issued a lengthy complaint to Eric Trump about his father’s “political persecution” on Monday after the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump’s Florida home, reportedly looking for documents that may have been retained in violation of the Presidential Records Act.
The former president’s son accused the Biden administration of orchestrating the raid, a claim the White House denied. corresponding a Politically Correspondent who said he had no prior knowledge.
“Sean, this isn’t from the small local FBI field office in Palm Beach, Florida. You know who that came from. This came from a place and a building, and that’s the White House in Washington, DC,” Trump said.
“For 30 FBI agents – actually more than that – to come to Mar-a-Lago, give absolutely no notice, walk through the gates, start searching an office, search a closet… they broke into a safe. He didn’t even have anything in the safe,” Trump claimed. “I mean give me a break. And that comes from, what, the National Archives?”
In February, the National Archives told Congress that former President Trump brought classified documents with him to Florida after leaving office and that NARA officials communicated with the Justice Department on the matter.
However, Eric Trump didn’t seem concerned that the FBI would find anything related to the investigation. When a skeptical Hannity asked what documents “could potentially rise to that level” to require a warrant-authorized search of an ex-president’s home, Trump said the FBI could instead find personal correspondence between family members, “some nice headlines.” ‘ and ‘ maybe a nice message from you, Sean.’
Prior to Eric Trump’s appearance, several commentators on Fox, as well as Hannity herself, reacted to this unprecedented development by criticizing Hunter Biden and Hillary Clinton. Trump’s complaint-filled statements fell in the same vein.
After criticizing, as his father put it in a post on Truth Social, “They even broke into my safe,” Trump brought up Joe Biden’s son.
“And yet, Hunter Biden, he’s done gun crime, prostitution, illegal drugs, you know, shady deals with everyone around the world. And by the way, it’s all on his laptop for the whole world to see,” Trump said. “Where are these FBI agents? Where are all? Why are the arrows only flying at Donald Trump and his family? Why is the political persecution in this country only going in one direction?
He continued: “When do you give up? When do you say enough is enough? When do you give someone who has fought so hard for this country – when do you give them a boost of confidence?”
