Eric Dickerson Urges Rams To Re-sign Todd Gurley After Akers Injury, ‘A No-Brainer’

The former Rams superstar explained it all to TMZ Sports debuts at LAX this week… says Gurley would be the perfect runner to sign if LA doesn’t like what they see from Akers backups this summer.

“It’s unquestionable,” Dickerson said of Gurley’s repaint. “I mean, he knows the offense, he knows the offense. He doesn’t have to go in and try to learn it.”

“He knows [Sean] McVay, he knows the people on the team – it will be an easy match. “

Of course, there are many hurdles both sides will have to overcome to get to that point – many of which Dickerson admits.

First and foremost, the two sides didn’t have the best breakup when Rams moved on from their former star in 2020.

Gurley also didn’t really excel in his lone season in Atlanta last year, dashing with just 3.5 yards per take.

However, Todd is a free agent looking for an NFL home, and the Rams could use the help – so Dickerson says that “business decisions” could ultimately push both sides to a close resume and enjoy a new marriage.

“At the end of the day, football, this is work,” Dickerson said. “That’s what it comes down to. You have to make business decisions.”

“You have to make decisions that are in favor of the team and the player has to make the decisions that are best for him.”
