Entire Trent-Severn Waterway to reopen for Thanksgiving weekend: Parks Canada

Parks Canada will reopen the whole Trent-Severn Waterway for leisure boating on Friday morning following transient closures attributable to latest heavy rainfall in central Ontario.

Earlier this month and in late September, the waterway was briefly closed between Lock 1 in Trenton to Lock 27 in Younger’s Level north of Peterborough — however excluded Lock 20 Ashburnham and Lock 21 on the Peterborough Carry Lock.

The closures allowed operations employees to maneuver the surplus water via the system to create secure boating circumstances, Parks Canada mentioned.

In late September, a lot of the Peterborough space was underneath a flood watch attributable to rising water ranges.
