Joe Magliocca is out and Jennifer Wyness is in as councillor for Calgary’s Ward 2.
The PR and mediation skilled beat out the embattled councillor in Monday evening’s election.
Magliocca was lately charged with breach of belief and fraud beneath $5,000 after an RCMP probe into his council expenditures.
Magliocca’s bills had been beneath police investigation since July 2020, following an forensic audit that confirmed he allegedly collected hundreds of {dollars} in ineligible journey and internet hosting claims.
His case has been adjourned till November, whereas his lawyer waits for disclosure of proof from the Crown.
Magliocca was first elected in 2013.
