Elvis Costello details the reconstruction of the 1978 Spanish-language album ‘This Year Model’

Elvis Costello has released the details of the Spaniard’s remake of his 1978 classic album ‘This Year Model’ – check out all the details below.
The new record, a collaboration with Costello’s regular assistant Sebastian Krys titled ‘Spanish Model’ – will be out in September.
It follows the recent release of ‘La Face de Pendule à Coucou’, a six-song EP that includes French adaptations of songs from Costello’s 2020 album ‘Hey Clockface’.
“Part of the excitement of this project is its unexpected nature,” Costello said of the new album in a statement. “Though, I think those of my audience that have noticed by now are pretty used to surprises.”
Krys added: “When Elvis told me the idea, it took me about 15 seconds to respond. I’ve been in a lot of situations trying to convert Latin artists to Elvis Costello’s music. The response I hear most often is ‘I like it. I wish I knew what he was talking about. ‘
“Spanish model is your chance to turn a whole side of the world into this amazing record and through these voices, get these ideas out. Lyrics, This year’s model still relevant today, what the songs had to say and how they said it. “
